 :luv:

We SURE do. Some of us have loved more than a few of them ;-)

One thing about Dominican women that a lot of American men don't understand is that they are not encouraged to speak their minds by Dominican men and in general in their culture it is taboo for them to say anything contrary to their man's point of view. This is why they don't tell you everything and sometimes you end up with surprises. They are VERY respectful of their man and they try not to make any waves. This can be frustrating when you really want their opinion because sometimes they just won't say what's on their minds. I wouldn't trade them for any woman in the world though.

True statement Tim and a man wanting them to voice their opinion is something that takes a lot of getting use to on their part just as getting use to the suprises takes a lot of getting use to on our part.

I've traveled a lot in my life, and I've met a lot of women from many different cultures.. I have never met a woman that could come close to a dominicana.. Even with all that we have to go through and even sometimes "suffer through", I wouldn't trade my dominicana for all of the other women in the world.. Well maybe a really cute "Tica"... jejeje.. Just kidding..

Good afternoon fellow DTTUSA members,

I thought I would post a little update on Gabriela's adventure to Miami. It's been 5 weeks now, and Gaby is ready to come home. She is going to be there for another three weeks, and leaves the 26th to come back to the islands.

She has had the opportunity to try various gringo things such as Taco Bell, Chineese Buffet, aligator tail, and has also had the opportunity to visit south beach and witness first hand the crazyness accociated with it. She went on about how the gringas run around south beach pretty much naked as she put it with "el culo expuesto" (asses exposed). She also is amazed how dangerous Miami is as a whole. She says that there are more police there than all of Santo Domingo, and explained that when she and her sobrina go out, they don't go out to any local cantina's and go across the river to south beach because of the dangers of being out in the city itself. She also says that the latin community is always fighting amongst themselves. Cubans, Dominicanos, and Columbianos don't get along she says.

Anyway, all of this is good news to me considering that I have NO intentions of living in the US mainland again. I was at the beginning of this a little concerned about her possibly wanting to stay there but as ususal, I was being my own worst enemy, and my fears were unfounded. I did lie a little bit telling her that all American cities are "all about the same". I have also enjoyed that she has been working there and helping out financially a little. Thats good for her and I'm sure not going to complain.. In closing I do have to be honest as one of my friends already knows.. I miss her a lot, and look forward to her coming home.. Below are a couple of pictures.

That is without a doubt the largest Mojito I have ever seen! The Mojito is another "first" for her. I'll tell ya Mark, I've always been amazed at how she reacts to first time experiences. Her excitement is a beautiful thing. Something you will be able to see first hand with your S/O really really soon!!
