What papers?
« on: October 31, 2013, 01:15:09 pm »
I've asked this before, but didn't get much of a response, but no problem...

Let's say I travel with my husband in April to the States for a week. Let's say we just had our CR-1 cita and everything went well back in February.

We want to return to the Dominican a week later after a short visit to the U.S.

No new paperwork in hand...

How does he do that so he can return permanently to the U.S. in let's say, June?

Thanks.  :compute:

BTW, HAPPY HALLOWEEN!  O0   Not much going on in the D.R. Maybe I'll buy myself a candy bar?

I think you need to ask that to a consular but I'm really not sure.

According to Marc's post you can use the visa in the passport up to one years.. so maybe you are FINE without a greencard in hand and can travel? I'd ask though to be sure.

Sorry.. I never responded in the past because I'm not 100% but since nobody else is responding I figured I'd give you SOMETHING to chew... ;)

I responded to you before and told you what to do. You don't need anything special, the visa is good for at least 6 months but check the expiration date on it when you get it just to make sure. You will be FINE with the visa for that first and second trip. No special papers needed.

You did, and thanks, but I think you were going to look into it more...something about an extension. But now....we won't need that. ;) Unless they give us the cita sooooooooooon! ;)
