No DMO that has to be paid at time of cita..   This is the fee for your greencard.

This fee is supposed to be paid after you get the visa.. they say before POE but I had read on another site that its not really necessary to do it right away because the visa itself is good to travel back and forth and do whatever for 6 months.. So I didn't rush it.. I had to buy new wardrobes for the winter for 6 of us!! lol... And since I didn't rush it I started to think.. wait.. I know Boo didn't pay right away either but right after she paid her hubbys SS came.. And then I said.. hrmm... let's push it and see if they are linked.. so I waited the 7 weeks.. let's see.. ;)

PS--We are considering moving out of the state, so until we kinda know where we are going I told him it's not a push to get a job just yet.. He's a little more "trankilo" but of course he's DYING to work.. lol..

My sister owns a business and he's been helping her with that which is nice.. he had Christmas money of his own, etc.. little things like that help!! I'm just so torn.. I do NOT want to stay in NY, but now I'm getting attached to my church here.. and maybe I won't leave.. ugh..

FYI The DS-230/260 is the actual application for alien residency. Which previously INCLUDED the green card. The cost was over $400 until the split it up into two payments. Dunno why they did it, but I'm sure it is a big help to have it split like that.

Yea, I had to pay everything TWICE. The initial filing fee for both wife and son all at once, the medical fees and them the DS-230 fees at interview time.

Went BACK to the SS office today.... They said it will be another 4 weeks as it got "Stuck" in the system... It's all so awesome though because I have to tell you my husband is totally being tested.. He wants nothing MORE than to get to work.. and I know that this is just a test.. I keep telling him, Man of little faith.. He says.. Noooo, nooooo.. today walking out of the Social Security Office he said.. Ok, Ok.. in God's timing.. it will come when it's ready.. It's no longer in my hands.. I've handed it over to the Lord..

When we got home he started working on some hobbies... He's such a love.. lol

So no SS card today, but honestly I think I can get him a job with his visa because it says he's a permanent resident for 1 year right on the visa.. therefore we can prove he's legal and now that it's gonna be AFTER the fist of the year maybe they will be patient about his SS number.. I guess we won't know till we try :)

By the way... I am totally fine that it's taken us 6 weeks from the date we went to the SS office and now they say another 2-4 weeks.. so it can be up to 10 weeks and that is fine!!  Our goal was to get to the states, right? Everything else is bonus!!

HAPPY NEW YEARS EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  :champagne:
