5 years today!
« on: March 18, 2014, 01:17:16 pm »
WOW! Feels like it was sooo long ago that I was weeding through this website to get info on how to bring my fiance to the USA. I just thought I'd let everyone know that today marks 5 years since we were approved of our K1 visa! Not only did we celebrate our approval, but we also celebrated my husband's birthday the same day!

I still remember Tim saying that the majority of these relationships would not last beyond 5 years. Back then, I remember thinking, "GEEZ! 5 years is sooo far away!" These have flown by sooo fast!  :rotfl: I'm thankful to say that we've lasted these 5, and have many more to come.  :-*

Life has been a crazy roller coaster, and within the last 3 months my aunt died unexpectedly due to pneumonia, my uncle was unexpectedly diagnosed with brain cancer and passed 2 weeks ago, my cousin died, and I lost one of my closest friends. My husband and I helped bring my uncle home and take care of him during his last days. It has been a really tough year and season, but I'm always so thankful to have married my better half, my best friend, and my man. We get one another culturally, mentally, emotionally, and intellectually. Without those things, I don't think that we could have made it through so many highs and lows.

We are in the process of purchasing our new home and are hoping to start working on expanding our family towards the end of this year.  ;D The best advice that anyone ever gave me during this process was to not rush anything. We've spent 5 years enjoying our new life together, traveling, working, setting goals, and making things happen. I wouldn't trade this process for anything in the world.

Now...onto citizenship!  :toast:

Miss you too!!!

Stories? LMAO! My story days seem to be so far away since the days that you and Someguy had to teach me a thing or two about a thing or two  :rotfl:

Since moving back here in 2009, we've only been back to the DR twice. I want to go back this upcoming summer, but hubby tells me that we'll go back in maybe 2 or 3. :( Glad I married someone who is financially responsible, or else I'd be blowing all of my money on trips to Mexico and the DR every few months  :toast:

WTF has Tim been? I messaged him an important question in regards to our friend's legal status. Haven't heard back from him and it's a serious case. I would post it on here but I think his crazy ass, ugly, troll of a wife is on here snooping around.
