Smoooooth Transition
« on: March 24, 2014, 06:26:11 am »
This has got to be the best time of my life. She has been here just over a month and we have not been separated for one second. If I go somewhere she is my shadow. We have only had one little tiny disagreement when she kept stealing my blanket while sleeping.  :2faws: Now we have 3 blankets and a sheet on the bed as well as body pillows and normal pillows. Just purchased a King beauty rest pillow top which in unbelievable. Talks with her family daily but not for long to help with bills. Just purchased her 3 pairs of Miss Me jeans this weekend which new are $150 a piece. So she insisted we search for used clothing store to save money. (a woman wanting to save $$ on clothes!!??) I love her so much. We have hit every bar and mall in our area.

Congrats!

as far as keeping contact, I would highly recommend something like vonage. My wife uses it to call back home, international calls are free and for a cost of $35 a month.

I believe that is with home phone. I tried to use vonage years ago and it was the WORST service I have ever used. Maybe it is better now but it was really terrible. And thanks.

Any VOIP service really depends on the quality of your internet connection. I have been using Vonage for years and it's been great for me, but I have a really good internet connection here. You may want to try it again if you have a good connection.

The service has gotten way way better with vonage. When my wife doesn't have much going on, she will stay on the phone for hours and hours at the time talking to family members in D.R.........  If I'm not mistaken, you can also get a vonage app for your smart phone as well.

With vonage at home, you do need a reliable high speed internet connection for it to work good. As long as you have that, it works great. They have a regular international plan to call just land lines in D.R., or you can pay a little extra and also call cell phones in D.R.

Yes but.....it is not free for the DR residents to call USA thru vonage with their cel phones. If so this is news to me and a great deal. I am and have used Gtalk .08 per minute to cel phone. Was .05 per minute but they raised their rate. https://www.gtalk.us/pinless/user/login

We had Claro Internet/home phone. I bought their best internet speed and best plan but for whatever reason connection was always bad. They gave us with plan something like 300 minutes for free calling to USA. Kept calling them out to fix the line. This went on for 1-2 visits every week for 2 months. Told wife to cancel home phone since they could not get it right.  They told her she needed to pay for termination fee plus past due. LOL. I told her to tell them to wait for payment. I think they are still waiting LOL. Service did not work. Ended up going with Orange. Long story short communication to the DR has always been frustrating. And talk about background noise. My brother in law raises fighting roosters them damn roosters were in my ear for the whole damn process.  :domrep:

My three cents, the best thing is not to call DR they always have a problem.

Alana got a call yesterday from a freind and asked her if she cloud lend her 100 pesos, so very fast my darling wife reply of course I send my mother some money yesterday so go by her house and she will give 100 pesos , to what her freind answer,  ok but not 100 of my pesos, but 100 of your pesos. Don't call DR don't answer phone calls from DR.
