Agree, my wife and I have being together for almost 6 years I only wanted to kill her  once or twice, best of luck.

:beathorse: ONLY ONCE OR TWICE!!!!! lol..... Lucky man! Definitely success!!!
Yes it is success, if you look at my time line I did not rush into anything took my time 2 years to get married and then another 2 years to file, so I know her well I accept her faults and she my so there is nothing to argue about except who is drinking the last beer.

Go luck to you both!!!!  Just so you know a attorney can't "make the process go faster". It is what it is. He (or she) can prepare the papers and make sure everything is filled out correctly and make sure that you avoid the common mistakes that people sometimes make, but that is only if they are good at their job. Most aren't. You can do that all yourself and save the money for the baby. But, if you are the nervious type, are scared to death that you will screw something up, and just want to "get er done", and you have the money to spend, more power to you!

Whatever you do, you have to come to grips with the fact that your baby has a VERY strong possibilty of being born in the DR. Be ready for that. That's not the end of the world. It has happened before. It's just something else that you have to deal with and be ready for.

Best of luck!!!

An attorney will not help it go faster.. if anything it will slow it down and make it tougher on you :(

Jenny  you are so right the first time I did this I got myself an attorney and every time he got a piece of paper it took 2-3 weeks for  me to find out, in that particular case it worked out because it gave me a time to get out of the relation, so you never know!!

Good point..

I have always looked at the US view of attorneys.. Most of us only need/use them if there is a problem.. So I think (And this is just my perception) that the US Government would agree and think the same way.. Oh there is something these people are afraid to expose they got an attorney..

Just my thoughts on it all..

And yes.. when you put a middle man into the mix.. More time and money spent when you can do it yourself FASTER.. and all atorneys say they are the fastest route because they will say anything for MONEY!!!
