My Visa was approved
« on: July 25, 2015, 11:53:43 pm »
Hello all.my question is in regards to our Visa arrival. My fiance and my step kids( kids 14 & 11) had our K-1 interview June 24,21015 we were approved, but we still have not received our visa,I've called over 10 times and they tell me the same thing (wait until they send a e-mail to your profile) why is this?I have heard and read that it usually only takes 1-2 weeks to receive the Visa.BTW our visas pick up is Santiago. The call center also told me to check the CEAC for Visa status check an profile update, but prior to this past Friday 24th our case had not been updated for almost 2 weeks. Now it shows all three case numbers (which is the same case number for all three) in order 1. 2. 3. with the case number. I'm assuming case 1 is my fiance...hers says Ready number 2 & 3 says Administrative Processing and i'm assuming that is the kids.My fiance called to get an explanation and she didn't get any clarity. They told her she had to wait until they send a e-mail to our profile.F.Y.I I started the petition about the 2nd week of Dec 14 2014.At this point we are getting frustrated because we want the kids to be in school here when school starts in September, and want to start making our wedding plans. Can someone give me some advice please?

You may want to write or call your congressman and have them make an inquiry on your behalf. They can cut through the bullshit and get you an answer. That's the only way I know to get some clarity on the situation.

To see "Administrative processing" seems to be pretty much the norm these days when they are doing the final steps. Your S.O's passport shows "ready" as of Friday. So, I would look for the other two to show the same fairly quickly. I dunno what the delay is, but if you don't have an answer by tomorrow night, you might want to do as Tim says and contact your Congressman.

Our Visas's were issued on 7-30-2015 and my fiance picked them up 8-1-2015,thank God!Now we have another issue,i'm not sure if you guys can help us with this or not.We were told that we have to get permission from the kids biological father (who lives in Philadelphia) in order for the kids to travel. My fiance contacted him three weeks ago,he said he would get the forms from the nearest Embassy to him....and that he would send them to her in the DR,which she could then file them with immigration so the kids can travel.Three weeks later she has not received the forms. What dose not make sense to me,is that there should be no reason for my fiance to be required to get permission from an absent (and whom I consider to be a deadbeat parent) father who has 6 kids by three different women....of which four of the kids are in the U.S. already. From my understanding, the DR immigration told my fiance that the only reason why she had to get permission from the father is because the kids have his last name. This is the most asinine reason that I've ever heard of.This man came to the U.S. five years ago,he has a used appliance store in Philly and is living comfortably with his wife and their child. This man had 3 kids before my fiance had her two with him,and from what I understand(when he lived in the DR)he never really provided for them and only sometimes sends my fiance $100.00 a month for her two kids ages 14 and 11.It's not like she is taking them to China, shes bringing him to where he is.....my question,is there any way that we can avoid getting his permission in order for the kids to fly?

sorry to say, but theres no way to avoid this unless they didn't have his last name like my kids. my step children just got here last week and their dad had to get the permission from their mom and he was asked for it at immigration before he left.

You CAN get around the permisso. Your S.O. will have to go to Palacio e Justicia and have an order of notification sent to him by aquacel (certified court delivery). If he does not respond to the notification within their specified time frame, then the court will issue their own PERMENENT permisso for the children.

This has nothing to do with the fact that they have their father's last name. It is to try and help protect against child trafficking and abduction, which happens a lot.
