Translation of single status affidavit
« on: October 08, 2017, 06:19:18 am »
Hello all,

I got back my single status affidavit with the apostille. I'm just wondering if i need to get the apostille, certification from county clerk, and the actual single status affidavit translated... or just the single status affidavit?

I'm asking because they stapled all of these documents together so I'm not sure.

Also, on the affidavit i wrote that we intend to be married in December 2017, but We actually may be married this month or next. Is that going to be an issue?

I'm confused about the first question. You state you got the affidavit with the apostille, then asked do you get the apostille from county clerk?????? I'm lost on that one.....If you're asking where to get apostille done at, it is usually done at the Secretary of State's office. Personally, I would have just had a single status letter done in D.R. for about 1200-1500 pesos and no translation needed.

I mean that I went through the process of getting the apostille on the single status affidavit. So attached to that affidavit is the certification from county clerk for the notarization and a 3rd sheet attached which is the apostille. I wanted to know if i get all 3 sheets translated (single status affidavit, apostille page, certification of clerk page) or solely the single status affidavit letter (1 page). Thanks

I would think all associated pages would need translation.
