We can register as soon as we receive the NOA1 ???

Yes.. But some people have found that even though they have received there NOA1 there case was still not in the system yet. But it will be there eventually.

Only K1 can register right now .. those of us who filed I130 .. we will not be in the system for some time so we have to wait

Please don't confuse them. You CAN register with an I-130, I did it. They are just a bit slow getting things in the system right now. I am sure they won't be that way forever.

-Tim

that is what i meant to say .. we definitely can once our info is in the system .. they are not a bit slow at entering things right now .. they are very very slow ... i mean it went from 30 days to 4-6 weeks .. now they tell me they are only up to June in processing I130 so you have several months until your EAC will be in the system
this is in my case as I never got an NOA1 but they did state as far as VSC they stopped entering data and are just in processing now .. not sure as you get many different responses from these people

You have to understand that entering the case number into their system has noting to do with the NOAs. the case number is entered when they receive the case. It should never take months to get the case number entered, if it is, this is a big problem. This is definitley NOT normal and shouldn't be happening. The case should be active in the system in at least a few weeks and really it should be days.

Mine isn't there...been a month now.  :(

Plus!  What about the different number on the check versus the actual receipt.  Is that a problem you think?

Yup, I did also.  BUT they are only batting .500 in my situation.  My wife's I-130 which was entered in Nov 2005 shows only the NOA1, even though her case was approved, then sent to NVC, completed and then sent to the Consulate.  My stepdaughter's I-130 was entered in July 2007 and shows every single action to date.

That is the problem .. with the backlog they went off and cashed everyone's check .. VERY GOOD.. but that is all they did .. now the center has to enter all of these into the system.. and until they do that if you just got your check cashed and/or got an NOA1 you won't get anything from the site or the automated system.. NOW THERE IS A BACKLOG IN ENTERING THE I130 EAC# FOR UPDATES.. so what everyone that just filed needs to know that they can continue trying their number .. if you have 2 numbers try both but it is going to be WEEKS maybe MONTHS before their I130 receipt is in the system..

Well not sure if CSC is as backlogged as VSC in putting the info in but with this scenario I would think the same applies
They rushed and cashed all the checks at the chicago lockbox now they have to do data entry on everything at the corresponding center is what was expalined to me
So on the I129F and many others forms they are up to date for automated and online status but not for I130 .. there is now no huge receipting backlog per se just a data entry backlog now  >:(
