I-130 for stepdaughters
« on: November 06, 2018, 08:20:31 am »
Hi everyone,
My husband will soon submit his citizenship paperwork but the process is taking in from 5 to 12 months in our area. We are thinking that as a stepmom and a citizen I am able to petition them since we have been married for almost 9 years and of course they are both under 18
years old.

Our though is that this way we don’t have to wait until my husband becomes a citizen and then wait the long period before the kids can come.

I would love your input on this. Also, the girls are from different moms. Would we need to file 2 separate I-130?

Thank you!!!!

Seems like you've asked about this before. YOU could have filed petition for them the same day you filed for your husband! Yes, separate I-130s.
