« on: November 09, 2018, 03:26:27 pm »
FIled form 130 beginning of may and still have not heard anything other then the receipt they received. Can someone out line the next steps that will take place and about what the time frame is until appointment. I did this 4 years ago for my son in law, but I do not remember the process of what I did and how long it all takes. Please help.

The next step, as long as everything is done right, you will get the second notice of action that your case is going to the NVC. You follow the steps to submit the requested documents there and after the case is completed an interview will be scheduled.

The time frame from initial petition to case completion is about a year +/-  2-3 months.

I did this process for my son in law about 3 years ago, and it seems it only took 12 months back then. Is it taking longer now for some reason

No, the average is still probably about a year (12 months) This is depending how "on top of it" you are with getting the necessary documents completed with the NVC. This is the only reason I add the +/- 2-3 months. Some folks are really on it, some folks may not check up on the case for a few days/weeks after completing something.

it has been 10 mos so I sent an email to ck ststus - they responded that it is taking longer because they are doing ore investigations. did not tell me about what - I was married 11 years ago to another dominican, brought him and my 2 step children here, and help my daughter bring her husband here, never had a problem before - so i am concerned why they are taking so llong and investigating].  I have been with thus man for 3 1/2 years, have been married a year now, have tremendous evidence that I sent, but I still have not heard anything. Is there anything else I can do to find out what is going on or move it along faster?

Clarify please. It's been 10 months since the day you filed petition? Or 10 months since you had an interview at the Embassy?

And they wont tell you in most cases. However, sometimes when you inquire it kinda wakes them up and they make  move in the case. Be patient, at 1 yr, your pretty much on track as long as the case is at the NVC. Wait a few weeks and call and inquire.
