Petitioner died while Visa interview is scheduled
« on: January 17, 2019, 07:17:02 am »
Hi All,

I have a friend of mine who's father (who was a US Citizen) died weeks before the Visa interview. He had another person as sponsor already in the affidavit who is a relative. What happens in this case?

Sorry, I been MIA for a couple weeks. If they know, the petition becomes null and void.

Is there any way to continue with a petition if the Parent dies in the process ( in this case a US Citizen father)
I've heard of people who said they can continue and but they would need a new sponsor?

No, if the petitioner passes away before a visa is issued, the petition becomes void.
