Can someone tell me exactly where the Junta is?

Here are all their locations in the capital:
http://www.jce.do/app/do/cedulacion.aspx?id=130

Here are their locations elsewhere in the country:
http://www.jce.do/app/do/cedulacion.aspx?id=131

Please call and check to make sure the office you pick is actually doing the legalizations. When I went in August some of them on the list were not actually legalizing. There was only 1 place en la Capital bythe Loteria Nacional

You go to the Junta with your certificates .You get on the "legalizing line" and hand over the certificates and pay the 200 pesos each. They give you a number, when your number is called  they hand over the legalized documents. Thats it  ;D

Ok Thanks!  I will have my fiance call to make sure.  I just wanted to clarify because in the old DTTUSA someone mentioned that you had to go to the Procuradia first then to the Cancilleria.

You will need to to that after the original legalization. YOur SO has to do some added steps due to going to Honduras and don't forget that you also need to take them to the US Consualte for Honduras

If I understand correctly, authentication is for Police Report and Birth Certificate for Dominican Citizen for interview in 3rd country once you have gotten the interview date.  Am I correct?

I was reading through this post, and you guys got me thinking.  My fiancee got her birth certificate, and her passport last year.  Through out this post, people have been talking about legalizing/ stamping birth certificates.  When a Dominican applies for his or her birth certificate, isn't it already a legalized document?  Please clarify this for me.  Thanks.

Case Number 11,XXX (Projected Interview Date, Summer 08)
Timeline For A.O.S.:
- Submitted A.O.S. w/ E.A.D. on 4/25/2008
- Rec'd by Homeland Security on 4/30/2008 (Certified Mail)
- Check Cashed on 5/8/2008.
- Rec'd NOA-1 For Both E.A.D. and A.O.S. on 5/10/2008.
- Rec'd I-797C; Biometrics Appt. on 5/12/08.
- Biometrics completed on 5/27/08.
- Rec'd email on 6/11/08 that A.O.S. was forwarded to California for processing.
- Rec'd email on 6/18/08 that A.O.S. status is currently listed as pending.
- Rec'd email on 7/1/08 that my wife's I-765 was approved.
- Rec'd E.A.D. on 7/14/08.
- Rec'd email on 7/31/08 that my wife's I-485 (A.O.S.) approved.
- Rec'd permanent resident card on 8/7/2008.
- Sent out I-751 on 4/29/2010.
- Check cashed on 5/5/2010.
- Rec'd I-751 receipt notice on 5/9/2010.

Case Number 11,XXX (Projected Interview Date, Summer 08)

when she receives the BC from her local office it is only certified by that office. For Petiton purposes and interview purposes it then needs to be legalized by what is now the Junta Central Electoral Nacional. (legalized by the national board)

Re: Birth Certificate
« Reply #33 on: November 14, 2007, 12:05:39 pm »
I was reading through this post, and you guys got me thinking.  My fiancee got her birth certificate, and her passport last year.  Through out this post, people have been talking about legalizing/ stamping birth certificates.  When a Dominican applies for his or her birth certificate, isn't it already a legalized document?  Please clarify this for me.  Thanks.

Case Number 11,XXX (Projected Interview Date, Summer 08)

when she receives the BC from her local office it is only certified by that office. For Petiton purposes and interview purposes it then needs to be legalized by what is now the Junta Central Electoral Nacional. (legalized by the national board)

Thank You Caímitera,

Going through their website, I see that there is one in Higuey, which is perfect.  A couple of more things:

Can she legalize it now, or is it too early since my interview probably won't be until the Summer of 08'?

Also, does she need to legalize any other documents for the interview?

It is probably best to wait until you are closer to interview.

The legalization unless it has been changed for DR is only valid for 30 days .. for the Consulate 1 year

But you don't want to give them paperwork that is too old

Itis best to do everything along with the police report, medical so eevrything is recent

Also with the new computer system, your wait time should be around 20 minutes.
Began application process 2004 (I-130/I-129F)

Why is it difficult to just use what is on the cedula and BC. Don't make this difficult, just fill out the paperwork with what is on the cedula. You probably should have checked that first. The information on the cedula comes from the BC, so it should all agree. Also, are you sure thety didn't legalize it? If you get the BC outside SDQ, the local officina civil will almost always do the legalization for you.

-Tim

Well this was not difficult...... But, when I first asked his dad what his name was, it was when I was filling out the I 129, really did not think that I would have to ID his father, I just asked in general just to make sure, at the time my SO did not even have a copy of his BC.  Also, when we went to the place for his BC, they dam near fell out when I asked to have it sent off to have it legalized.  I actually started arguing with them that I was told that they would do this if I paid an extra fee.  Funny thing was, another woman was there when we went to pick up the 2 BC, (and I swear she was from this board......lol) cause she was ripping them a new as!hole because she was told that they would do this also.

I am not sure if it is legalized or not cause I do not know what exactly is suppose to be on it.  I assum it is not, but for having to wait 4(?) days, they sure would of had the time to freakin do it!!

I am looking at it now, and it has a civil stamp with the towns name we got it from, and then it has an embedded on it, but I can not read what it says.  these BC's also have a time limit on when they are good??  I have more to ask about the legalizing, but I am going to wait until it is closer to our time.  I know everyone told me but, I lost the info I wrote down, but said OOOh don't worry about it I can get it from my post, then it happened, the site was down.  So sorry in advance for having to ask later.

Chulo

Don't worry .. things change from office to office.. as now the offices aren't doing legalization it is the Junta Central Electoral

The ink stamp is on my documents on the back

The stamp is BLUE states the following:

JUNTA CENTRAL ELECTORAL
OFICINA CENTRAL DEL ESTADO CIVIL
Certifico que la firma que figura al pie del presente
documento corresponde al Oficial del Estado Civil
de: Santiago
Santo Domingo RD

Fecha          Firma Autorizada

If the document does not have the above stamp itis not legalized  it is just a certified copy from the local office black round stamp and pink sticker (maybe a diffenret color for another office)

Hopefully this helps I just got my certified documents in Santiago in August and had to go to SDQ and ghet them legalized myself. It's a headache but it is what it is  :(
