I just went to send money to my SO for Christmas Eve Dinner and Xoom gave me a message that they have changed the way they are doing business and Caribe Express is no longer an option.

Now you can only send to BHD or Banco Progreso.  I went for Banco Progreso because my SO knows where they are in Azua.   Hopefully it works out OK, never sent money to them before.

Maybe Xoom got sick of always having to fix the problems with Caribe Express?

Yeah, I noticed that.  I used Remesas Dominicana, I've used it twice already and it works fine.  Xoom is still grea.

There was another post last week about the same thing.  When I called them up they said that Caribe Express's system was down.  So for home deliveries you must use BHD.

BTW here is the thread: http://dominicanstotheusa.com/forum/index.php/topic,7149.0.html

EVEN FOR PICK UP, THEY JUST DON'T HAVE THE OPTION.  I LIKED CARIBE EXPRESS, HOPE THEY PUT IT BACK.

The partnership between Xoom and Caribe Express is still ongoing. I sent some money for home delivery and the family received it without any trouble.

Good to know,  they must have just gotten it back up and running.  I like Caribe Express better because its more convenient for my SO, but hopefully that will not be important soon anyways.
