Hello all
I know that Dominicans rarely ever get tourist visas but for the $150 or so it costs I figured I'd give it a chance in our situation. I also understand that it is up to the Dominican resident to providence evidence of binding ties to their country as well as the finances to pay for the entire trip. I have a girlfriend in Santo Domingo that will be applying for a visa and in addition to her documentation of finances, etc I would like would like to include a letter of sponsorship as well as a I-134 form with the included bank statements, etc. My question is do I send this form to the US Embassy in Santo Domingo or do I have her bring it to her appointment? Also if I file a I-134 now to complement her tourist visa application will it interfere with me filing another I-134 for a K1 in the future?

Thanks in advance

there are no affidavit requirements for the tourist visa and submitting one would be a  red flag squad as she will have to be honest about the relationship

the idea is that the person applying has the means to take the trip and has the ties to come back and stay in DR

by having an American Fiance there is already a reason to stay in USA and not returning

Stable Employment
Good Standing Bank Account
Personal Property
Own Business
Family in DR

All these are indicators of possible return

Ok then maybe I will not submit one but I thought it wouldn't be a problem as I could just mark my relation to her as a "friend". Also do you think that even a sponsorship letter, sayin something to the effect that in the event of an emergency I could take care of her expenses, would be a red flag as well. I mean we already have the dates, the itinerary, and associated prices planned out and I know the Embassy does not believe that she is coming here by herself so I figured a letter would not hurt if I'm providing room/board.

Mark "friend" ? So you were thinking about lying to the consulate? And you being  her male "friend" while providing room and board? C'mon, it is the Consulate you are working with, not a colmado owner. And you lying to the consulate is really ruining your chances in the future. They will find out. Be very careful.

You have to understand.....if you say she is your "friend" now, and 6 months down the line you show up with a fiance' or marriage visa, they will know, and they will not be happy that you lied. It could affect your chances of a real visa down the line.
