My SO is living in the DR where I plan to join here in June. I am currently completing my Masters degree and she would like to come up for my graduation and a visit. So, my question is where do we start? Marriage is in our future so, the K1 is possible but, we are not rushing the marriage part. She has a home, Business, car, son (15) and is established in the DR.

So, do we try the tourist 1st? any help getting this started is appreciated!

Tourist visas are very difficult to get in the DR, even if the person applying meets all of the stated criteria.  Her having an American boyfriend does not help, although she should not lie about that if you guys decide to go that route.

If you eventually plan to petition for her either as your fiancee or wife, then I say just wait until you're ready to take that step.

Good luck.

record the graduation and send it to her. Unfortunately, that's the closest she'll get to attending.

Your relationship is what will prevent her from getting a tourist visa.
