Finally, in my critique of the immigration image of America, it is also important to know that we're not only a nation of immigrants, but we are in some part a nation of emigrants, which often gets neglected.

Hey guys, more good news.  We just got a notice that an interview has been scheduled for March 9th!   banana

I'm sure I'll have questions in the coming weeks as we get closer.  Any tips from those that have gone through it are greatly appreciated.

Thanks!!

OK, I have a question already LOL.  The notice states that if he doesn't speak English fluently we need to bring an interpreter.  He speaks basic conversational English, but by no means is he 100% fluent.  Can the interpreter be anyone who is fluent in both English and Spanish or does it need to be a certified interpreter (I don't even know if there is such a thing)?  If so, Banginma is this a service you provide??

Thanks!

Congrats Beba ..

Interview .. Wow I think most interviews were for k3's recently

Technically you treat it almost like the consular interview and include recent bills, bank accounts, proof of address and so on

You can take anyone that speaks both languages with you doesn't matter ... Some even let you translate for the SO ...

There is such a thing as a certified interpreter (translator) Smiley but don't spend the money on one when you can take anyone

Can the translator be a member of my family (with the same last name as me) or should I get someone outside of the family?  Or does it even matter?

Many go with family members BUT if you want to make sure give them a call.

Either way the only requisite is that they speak both languages

I know for citizenship my aunts and uncles went with grandparents and in one case for green card the guy took his girlfriend with the wife there rolling on the floor laughing
