Hi good morning everyone I was looking for information regarding administrative process and found this site so I hope you guys can help me as I am desperate...I will post my timeline at the end but I just had my interview on February 18 with my husband and we were placed in administrative process and we dont know why....we were asked many questions regarding our relationship, our kids, previos marriages and we answered everythin correctly and with the truth.  I was also missing a paper I was missing a copy of my moms citizenship, she was my cosponsor.  Well we brought a copy of her passport to window 26 outside the embassy last week and they told us that we just have to wait until the AR is complete...I dont know what to do please help!!!

At the end of your interview when you were told that you were on AR, did they give you a green piece of paper?  What was checked off on that paper?   I was on AR for 4 months and we never knew why.  Stay strong and send me a pm if you need to talk. And welcome to the site!

There are various of us here on the site that are on AR, just have faith and patience cause its much needed.  I have been on AR 6 months now, other members have been 8 months.  this is a process that no one knows of.

There is always a reason, and people always say they don't know, when almost without fail, they do. You were given a rejection slip with some things checked off. E-mail me a copy and I may be able to tell you why.

From what you are saying, you are not on Administrarive REVIEW. You are on AP (Administrative PROCESS). There were some things missing that you needed to have and they may have questioned one thing or another. They gave you a GREEN slip, not a PINK one. Relax for a few weeks! This has happened to a couple of members here already. It appears that AP IS different from the AR process and it is less serious amd much faster than the AR process which is usually for more serious matters than a name hit or missing documents.

For some reason I am still confused lol, whenever I call for my case and from info received from others on "AR" the information is that the case is under going administrative processing.  Again this is a process no one understands.

They may never have checked off a code on the paper.  Ours did not have any of the codes checked. We were also told we would have another cita and we didnt.  Hopefully you turn in the docs and you will hear something soon.

The title says AR
Her 1st post says AR
Then she said AP when docs were dropped off

She has to check the paper to see what it is .. she doesn't have it

Hopefully there is no code .. but she won't know where she stands until she sees the paper

AP and AR aren't the same
AP - Administrative Processing (less time) - usually paperwork and verification
AR - Administrative Review (longer time) - this is beyond name issues, finger print issues stuff like that, criminal records, illegal immigration, previous fraud case

Don't ever leave your stuff in the DR, especially important stuff like this. In my experience I have never seen a Dominican who takes care of important papers. These should be retained by you. As well, you should not be letting him fill out any forms, that is your job.
