For this process you should have 3 of every Dominican Certificate BC, MC and DC

You can send copies to USCIS but for NVC and Consulate you must have originals along with an extra for yourself

American BC and Naturalization you only need to send copies

Divorce decrees or certificates from USA you can send copies to USCIS but again NVC and Consulate need originals

You need many originals .. 3 of everything or minimum of 2 except for usc bc and passports

Wow!  That's an awful lot of originals.  My SO will be needing 2 more of everything.  She's not gonna be happy when I tell her that one.  I guess that's what I'll be doing 1 day of my visit next week.  Oh well, it must be done.

Bangin - Thanks for all your help with this.  I called the wife and she said, no problem.  So she's going tomorrow to get the 2 more copies of the  certificates including 1 PC.  My step daughters BC is ready too, so I can submit her I-130 when I return.

Tell her to don't forget to get them legalized.  I know that Bangin Ma said it earlier but I became so focused on getting the docs from the Junta office that I forgot getting them legalized.

Hopefully my SO can get them all legalized today as well.  If not, we'll have to go when I arrive.  It will only take a half-day then.   Undecided  The main thing for now is to get the originals.  I already have one set of originals that I can use for the NVC, whenever my NOA2 arrives.  Huh?

Cindy...that  is soo true, and not only that, but not too long ago the process was much longer even for US citizens.

Kid...I know exactly how you feel...I haven't seen hubby since august and it is just killing me...I miss being with him.

My SO got the originals today for the BC and MC.  Took her all day but we have them.  Tomorrow she's going to get them legalized and get the passport for my step-daughter.   She also is going to inquire about the PC. Question, does the PC need to get the sello as well?

it gets given to her certified .. a blue stamp

that is all it needs .. some have a pic others don't so she should take passport pics with her in case they want to staple one on

Well, just got back last night.  Had a good time and got some stuff done.  Now I have 3 original legalized BC's (wife and step-daughter), 3 original legalized MC's, and 3 2x2 photos.  Also got the Police Certificate (w/ blue stamp) and signature on the DS-230.  My step-daughters I-130 is ready to be mailed tomorrow with a letter to join it with my wife's petition.  Was able to get the passport for my step-daughter too.  Am I missing anything?

Thanks. She only had to wait 8 years and 2 months for the cita. Her brother had his a few weeks back and had the visa in his hands 4 days later
