Hi all I need some help!! Please

On March 29 hubby, myself and our son are taking a trip to DR for 2 weeks.. Now my question is, was hubby suppose get something changed or done to his passport in order for him to go to DR.  He called me from work about an hour ago and told me that his friend said that he had to change something on his passport not sure what he was talking about.  My hubby came here on a K1 visa and we are to lift conditions in October of this year.. Can some one help me just want to make sure things go smooth on our vacation.

03/03/08 Approval Notice was received
04/07/08 Received date of CITA.
04/29/08 Brought flight.
05/21/08 SO went for his Medical.
06/03/08 APPROVED!!
06/12/08 My honey finally made it to US Soil..
07/17/08 Applied for our Marriage License, SS card & made an appointment to put hubbies name on our sons BC. 
07/19/08 Received SS card.
07/23/08 Picking up Marriage Certificate
08/02/08 Married!! Woo Hoo
08/04/08 Brought plane tickets to Texas for Family Reunion/Honeymoon..
08/05/08 My hubby opened his 1st checking account!
09/08/08 Starts ESL classes...
9/26/08 Changed my last name on my SS card and Licence.

9/30/08 NOA for I-485
9/30/08 NOA for I-765
10/01/08 Got a temp AP for hubby to fly to see his dad.

10/15/08 Received Transfer Notice to California Service Center.
10/29/08 New Bio appt for 11/06/08
12/2/08 *nada*
12/4/08 EAD Card Production Ordered.
12/9/08 EAD Card Production Ordered same info different date.
12/12/08 Approval notice sent EAD
12/15/08 Received EAD card *WooHoo*
01/12/09 *Touched* AOS
01/20/09 Got his licence!! Now he can drive me around jejeje
1/26/09 AOS APPROVED!!!!! WOO HOO!!

Is he still here on a K1 or did he receive his green cards already?  If he has his greencard I believe there is nothing he needs to do.  If e does not have his green card he needs permission to travel.

Yea he has his green card, we are close to lifting conditions in about 7 months.  I am not sure what he was talking about since his friend couldn't explain correctly.  He said something like when he came home a few weeks ago someone at the airport told him that he needed to change something on his passport so since my hubby came around the same time his friend came and with the same visa he wanted to share the information but the information he shared was not clear.

He doesn't need to change something on his passport

He needs to make sure he has the new BLACK passport with the NEW security and biographic info

If he has a BLACK passport he is good

If his passport is blue, dark blue or any shade that is not black he has to go to the nearest consulate and get the new BLACK passport

It cost 130 or 135  @ NY consulate ..

Thanks Bangin, I just looked at the passports my son and I have the dark blue one (American passport) and hubby has the black one!!! Thanks again now I can sleep with out worries!!

Also, there is a deadline of March 30th to have the passport changed.  Prior to that date Dominican citizens can travel with the dark blue passport but after that they must have the new biometric black one.

Thanks. She only had to wait 8 years and 2 months for the cita. Her brother had his a few weeks back and had the visa in his hands 4 days later
